I wrote “DNA” to prove a point about family. Family is not genetic. Sharing DNA with someone does not constitute a relationship. The people in your life who have been there for you, who have cared for you, who have lifted you up when you were at your lowest – Those people, regardless of whether or not they share your blood, are your family. DNA doesn’t define who your true family is and that’s part of what makes family a beautiful thing.
